Every resource I use for my biz (with links)
Let's shift gears this week and talk about the resources I use to run my online coaching business. Because if I can do it, so can YOU (if the idea has ever crossed your mind).
It's expensive to hire people - web designer, manager, marketing person, etc etc etc. SO...
I'm here to share my resources and tell you that I've done and do everything for my business completely by myself. Meaning, you can too.
I'm no tech wiz, but I do have the patience and motivation (or stubbornness) to figure something out. After 10 years of revamping things a thousand times to keep up with the times, and as I learn more, these are the current resources I use and love for my business.
1. I host my website with Kajabi.
Here's a link to join if you want to test it out. I absolutely LOVE it. I send all of my emails from here, accept payments, send client intake forms, write blogs, host my coaching platforms with info for my clients, etc. AND you can even host Podcasts, offer subscriptions, and more. It's very easy to use and they provide templates for easy website building. There are easier and more basic options out there, but you won't outgrow this one. Plus you get 100x more for what you pay for. There's a big emphasis on marketing and easy client use and delivery so I love that part. Feels like my whole business is in Kajabi, not just a website.
2. To accept payments, I use PayPal and Stripe.
They connect to Kajabi but you'll need to create accounts on their websites.
3. The app I used to deliver my clients' fitness programs is super cool too!
It's customized with my branding so it looks like my very own app... without costing tens of thousands of dollars. Here's the link to check them out and create an app of your own. What I like about the app is that it's basic but high tech! I can set up notifications to nudge my clients to drink water, do their workouts, or anything I want to add. All of the workouts are designed by me and I can add my own demo videos, or use the ones that came with the app in case I don't have a demo video for something. It allows you to upload PDFs and this is how I keep all of my nutrition programming completely customized, with the option to add ANY sort of handout, not just within the app's limits. It's basically a cute and techy way to deliver my programming (instead of just as a PDF), with a lot of handy built-in features like check-lists, a stop watch, workout tracking, videos and more.
4. I build all of my clients' nutrition programming in Numbers (on Mac).
It's the Mac version of Excel or Google Sheets. I like spreadsheet style to add up macros per food, meals and daily totals.
5. I use My Fitness Pal (free version) to look up nutrition info when I'm designing meal plans.
It also links with my app so when clients track in MFP, it shows in the app too.
6. I use Canva to make cute PDFs, IG and blog posts, all things design.
Canva is probably my favorite website ever!! Not a fitness thing, would be good for all things marketing and design in any industry.
7. I use Calendly for clients and potential clients to book calls.
You can set your schedule to show only available hours, and link it with your Google Calendar to make sure nothing overlaps and that your Calendly bookings also get added to your Google Calendar.
8. I use Zoom for calls.
Haven't explored MeetUps or anything else. Just keep it simple with Zoom, the regular phone, or sometimes even FaceTime if it's with an existing client (not a consult call).
9. I like to use WhatsApp for client communication.
Especially so they can speed up my audio messages and listen to me in 2x speed. Voice messages on iPhone are a pain because you can't leave the text thread without the audio stopping, can't speed up the delivery, and can't pause and restart very easily. WhatsApp is way better!
10. I use Google Sheets to keep myself organized.
I have a sheet for my client list and their start and end dates, a sheet to keep track of my client updates, etc. You can make a spreadsheet for anything you want to keep track of. I like using Google Sheets because I can access them from my phone or computer instead of needing to open a desktop folder on my computer only. In other words, I can stay organized on the go.
And... that's about it! Not too much to it.
Let me know if you have any questions or if there's anything I forgot 🙃
Have a great rest of your week!
