How do you measure your worth?
This week's email is straight from the heart. A pep talk that I need sometimes just as much as someone reading it may need. But my question to you is...
How do you measure your worth?
Do you ever catch yourself measuring your worth from external factors like how much money you make, your weight, how well you did on a test or if you have/haven't gotten a promotion at work? Maybe it's by the attention you get from strangers or how expensive your clothes are.
I know I have moments where I let myself feel less valuable based on things like the factors listed above. Or on the flip side, I can feel like the coolest person on earth if I have a month where I make a bunch of money, or feel more lovable if my skin is clear and I'm looking lean.
This can leave us feeling the highest of highs.... and lowest of lows.
Your value, your worth, and who you are as a person isn't reflected by the money in your bank or the number on the scale. Not by the car you drive or how many followers you have on IG.
And it's sometimes too easy to forget that.
Society takes advantage of us by letting us think that we're more beautiful if we're skinny (hello major money making from beauty products) or more important with higher status. And that couldn't be further from the truth.
A human is a human is a human. It doesn't matter if you're a doctor or unemployed, a model or have a few grey (or chin) hairs and jiggly triceps.
You are valued, loved and since you're reading this email, chances are you can have the opportunity to do and be whoever you want to be. Hell, there will definitely be obstacles, and for some more than others, but you have every right to make the most of your life. And if you're catching yourself with self-doubt as a result of undervaluing your worth, I want you to adjust your mindset and remind yourself that...
I am valuable. I am loved. I am worthy. And I will make the most of this life because I've only got one shot at it.
Caught in a loop of 'blah'? Turn it around.
Grab a journal and follow these prompts:
- Three things I am grateful for:
- What do I want to manifest this month and what are the exact steps I'm going to take to make it happen?
- Write down and speak out loud 10 characteristics that you love about yourself starting with "I am..."
And do this every single day for the next 30 days. If you really want to fast track your results, make the effort to exercise daily and focus on your nutrition. It doesn't have to be anything crazy, but I can guarantee life will take a turn.
Do it, believe it, and watch your body go from a state of 'blah' to empowered. Feel the excitement of taking hold of your life and making things happen because you know deep down that you have the ability and the worth to squeeze every ounce of positivity and happiness from this lifetime.
Your worth is internal. Nourish it with love for yourself and others, by embracing opportunities, taking risks, taking care of your mental and physical health, taking time to sit in quiet and imagine the person you want and know you can be, and present your best and most genuine self to the world because they'll be lucky to see YOU.
